Questions, answered

How does Missing Points know what I spent on travel?

Calendars don't carry prices, so it estimates them. Flights are priced from the distance flown and the cabin, and hotel stays from the number of nights, the hotel's tier and the city's price level. You can check and edit every estimate before the points are counted, or add card statements for exact amounts.

Which credit cards does it compare?

The popular rewards cards from Amex, Chase, Capital One and Citi, using each card's earn rates, spending caps and annual fee. Points are valued at typical transfer-partner rates, which you can change in Settings. Pick a different country with the flag in the header.

How is the missed value calculated?

For every flight, hotel stay and purchase, it compares what the best card would have earned with what the card you actually paid with earned. Annual fees are prorated over the period analysed. Sign-up bonuses, statement credits and lounge access aren't counted.

Is my calendar data private?

Yes. Everything is analysed in your browser and nothing is uploaded to a server. Google Calendar access is read-only and goes straight from Google to this tab, and imported data is kept only on your device. We count anonymous visits and clicks with cookie-free analytics, never what's in your calendar or statements.

Can I include everyday spending, not just travel?

Yes. Add CSV statement exports from any bank, such as Amex, Chase and Citi, and groceries, dining and everything else are counted too.

Is it free?

Yes. There's no sign-up and no account, and it takes about a minute.
